samsung galaxy Core Advance is an improved version of the smartphone popular among young people. The device was first announced in December 2013 and the manufacturer positions it as a full replacement for its predecessor. The device got more attractive appearance and improved hardware, but first things first.
Appearance
Whatever one may say, but new Galaxy version Core looks much more interesting and stylish. The case has become more strict, a texture has appeared on the back cover like the Galaxy S4, and hardware buttons have appeared at the bottom, under the screen. The smartphone looks like a cross between Note 3 and S4, and the dimensions of its body are 133.3 x 70.5 x 9.7 mm and weighs 145 grams.
As usual, the device will be available in black (or rather gray) and white colors. The back cover now looks more severe and interesting, and the edging around the camera nicely emphasizes the style.
Characteristics
The smartphone has a dual-core processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz, as well as 1 GB of RAM. Built-in volume is 8 GB. Of course, there is support for microSD cards up to 64 GB. There are all possible communications here: Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 3G HSDPA, EDGE and others.
The camera in the Galaxy Core Advance has a 5 megapixel sensor, autofocus and LED flash. The battery capacity in the smartphone is 2000 mAh, which is very good for devices of this level. It is also worth noting the presence of FM radio, because in top-end devices, manufacturers are increasingly abandoning it in favor of Internet radio.
Screen
The display here is of very good quality. Its diagonal is 4.7 inches and the resolution is 800 x 480 pixels. This gives a density of approximately 200 ppi. The matrix is made using TFT technology and has good viewing angles.
Software
Out of the box, the smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2, has a proprietary set of software from Samsung and the TouchWiz interface. All other content can be downloaded from our website or the Google Play Store.

phone supervisor
The phone was announced back in December 2013. It went on sale at the beginning of March 2012. In Russia, now not all stores can find this model. Most often it is presented in online stores. The lowest prices are now in Ukrainian stores. The average price at the moment is 12 thousand rubles. Which is not so small, but still competitive. The markup for the brand here is just a nightmare. Also, a phone (in terms of characteristics) from a Chinese manufacturer, such as Lenovo, Zopo, ZTE, for example, would cost about 6000-8000 rubles. That is, the margin is only for the fact that it is Samsung by about 100%. Of course, if you want brand and quality, then yes, I think you should buy this model. And if high performance is important to you, then I think you should look towards manufacturers from China. But I'm too far gone from the phone itself. This review is for those who are going to buy a phone from this particular manufacturer. By the way, I want to note that this is not the first model where mechanical buttons are used. Whether that's good or bad is up to you, of course. Personally, I don’t really like this idea, I will mention these buttons later, and I will argue my opinion. The body is made entirely of plastic. The quality of the plastic is not very good quality. To the touch, it is not very pleasant. You should probably start with the back cover. It is made of soft-touch plastic. It is neither glossy nor matte. There are no fingerprints left on it, but even the most shallow scratches, small chips, and in general any mechanical damage are perfectly visible. The edging is made of glossy silver plastic, and it seems to me that over time it will peel off. All buttons are standard, and, in my opinion, very convenient. On the right side, just above the middle, there is a power on and off button, and above the camera shutter button. On the left side there is a double volume control button. In general, all buttons are very easy to reach. At the top there is a hole for a second microphone, and a standard headphone jack. At the bottom end there is a speaker and a USB connector.
The front part is completely covered with glass or ordinary plastic, I can’t understand this, alas. If it is glass, then it performs its functions perfectly. To be honest, I never regret the tested phones, and sometimes I even deliberately try to damage either the display or the case. This time I carried the device in my pocket along with the keys, and I did not see a single scratch at the end of the test. Previously, ordinary glass was installed in Samsung smartphones, they were no worse, but small scratches were very clearly visible, but now there is no such problem. Let's continue talking about the front of the phone. Almost the entire area is occupied by the display, below it there are three mechanical buttons: "List of applications", "Home", "Back". In short, standard android buttons. The bezels on the sides of the display are very narrow, which visually reduces the device. On top we have: earpiece, front camera, and sensors.
The buttons are mechanical. I don't even know who it was made for. For me personally, they are not very convenient. Press hard, it happens that they don’t even work. They are pressed with a characteristic sound. I'm even afraid that the images applied to the buttons can be erased over time. On the back side, everything is a bit boring. In the middle in the center is the Samsung logo. Above is the camera module, to the left of it is an LED flash, and to the right of it is an external speaker. The Galaxy Core Advance itself is very large, measuring 133.3x70.5 millimeters. The thickness of the case is only 9.7 millimeters, which is very small for such a price and for such dimensions. But the weight here is simply huge - 145 grams, this is a lot, you can keep such a device on weight for a maximum of 10 minutes. At the ear, this time is generally reduced to 3-5 minutes. After the conversation, the hand just “falls off”. In the hand, all this is placed quite difficult, often falls out. The buttons on the ends are standard. All of them are on the right, in the upper part there are two buttons for increasing and decreasing the volume, just below there is a hardware button that is designed to turn the power on and off. The assembly as a whole is good, but personally I don’t like everything. Of course, there are no backlashes and squeaks, but here back cover bends around the battery, even with a slight pressure, I'm afraid that this cover will simply break.
There are headphones in the kit, but personally they worked for me with varying degrees of success. Sometimes one ear simply turned off, and in general the sound was of poor quality, noises were often heard. I tried to test the sound with my headphones and the quality suits me. Of course, high frequencies are a problem for all budget phones, and, of course, they could not do without it. The external speaker is very loud, with such speakers it is simply theoretically impossible to miss a call. The spoken speaker also yells, and it yells almost like a hefty speaker. When talking, the ear simply “withers” from loud sounds, very often you have to turn down the volume. The microphone is quite sensitive, but it feels like the noise cancellation microphone does not work very well.
The screen is very large, but not the maximum for such a price. But in terms of quality, it is not very good, and even more likely not in terms of qualities, but in terms of technical specifications. The display diagonal is 4.7 inches. The matrix is made using TFT technology, which gives it additional brightness. Of course, there is a lot of brightness, but the clarity is a little lacking. This screen has a resolution of 480x800 pixels. If we calculate the number of pixels per inch, then in our case we get 199 pixels. This is just a ridiculous number for 2014. Pixels are just visible to the naked eye. Especially when watching a video in action scenes, there are only pixels everywhere. The matrix itself is covered with ordinary plastic. I also see this as a very big problem. Now you can close the matrix even with the first version of the gorilla, and buyers will already be very grateful to you for this. The quality of any picture in general leaves much to be desired, but generally acceptable. Let it be even an ordinary picture, or it will be a video, or any game. Everywhere brings a small number of pixels per inch. But that would be the only problem. There is also a problem with color reproduction, it is frankly weak here, the colors are bright, but not natural, it gives everything in warm shades. Plus, sometimes there is graininess. The viewing angles did not let us down, the vertical ones are very decent, and the horizontal ones are generally just a dream. Of course, the brightness is decent, it is enough even with a margin in the bright sun. But, alas, the screen itself glares and reflects. Of course, it's nice to play games with a large screen and all that, but again the weight affects. If, for example, you play races with a gyroscope, then your hands get tired just instantly. And if you indulge in angry birds, then the screen is perfect for this.
Well, now let's get down to the inside of the device. The Galaxy Core Advance features a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8230 processor with 1GB of RAM to deliver the performance you need to run demanding applications. In general, in general, everything is very good on paper, here you have a decent processor and a good video card. But, in fact, everything fades away. Our hero can easily pull all applications and almost all games, but sometimes it is very clearly seen that FPS sags in games, and sometimes very much, it often happens that it is simply impossible to play even the simplest games. Fortunately, everything in the menu is quite good, the interface itself works without any complaints at all. There are no brakes, everything is smooth and even. There are no complaints about the interface at all. The only minus of the filling is the amount of RAM, well, now 1 GB is not enough, that's not enough and that's it. It would be optimal to put 1.5 or even 2 GB. Of course, I’m a realist and I understand that you can’t put such an amount of memory in a smartphone for 10 thousand, but on the other hand, what is the extra 512 MB of RAM? Some 2-3 dollars. In short, if we talk about the internal part, then here it is average, almost all games go, and absolutely all applications. Own memory is quite enough - 8 GB, but plus there is a slot for a memory card. The device supports memory cards up to 64 GB inclusive.
The camera has a resolution of only 5 megapixels. For such a price, this is certainly not normal. On the general background, it looks just awful. There is a large screen and powerful stuffing, and such a camera. The maximum photo size is 2592x1944 pixels. The quality is not very good. Of the useful features there are: optical zoom, sufficiently powerful LED flash and autofocus. There is also a front camera, it has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. It's not much, but it's enough for Skype calls. Video recording is not very high quality.
The battery on paper is quite capacious - 2000 mAh. But for such a screen and hardware, this is very small. It takes about a day. And if he just lies, then two days keeps problems. From the outlet, the smartphone charges in about three hours.
Samsung Galaxy Core Advanced elegant dual-core novelty in the operating room Android system.
